Instant Pot Hamburger Soup

 
Ingredients
1 Medium Onion Diced
2 1/2 Lbs Hamburger
1 28 oz can Stewed Tomatoes
1 28 oz can Whole Tomatoes
1 29 oz can Tomato Sauce
2 Beef Bullion Cubes
4 Large Carrots 
3-4 Celery Stalks
3 Bay Leaves
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/2 Tsp Garlic Salt
1/4 Tsp Pepper
1 large head of Cabbage
 
 

Directions

Chop up Cabbage, Celery, Carrots and Onions and set aside. Add Hamburger, Salt, Garlic Salt and Pepper to Instant Pot and cook on sear until completely cooked. Drain cooked Hamburger and place back in Instant Pot. Add Onions, Carrots, Celery and combine. Add Tomato Sauce, Stewed Tomatoes, Whole Tomatoes, Beef Bullion Cubes, mix well and then add Bay Leaves. Set pressure cooker on 25 minutes. Once timer goes off do a quick release. Once pressure is released remove Bay Leaves and then add chopped cabbage and mix well. Set pressure cooker on another 25 minutes. Once timer goes off again do another quick release, mix together and enjoy.

  • May I suggest a teaspoon of sugar? I have made a similar recipe several times and for some reason, adding that teaspoon of sugar makes quite a difference! Thank you for sharing this as I was mulling over what the timing might be for doing this in the Instant Pot! Take care.
