Irish Soda Bread Recipe

 
Ingredients:
1 lb whole meal flour
1 tsp Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
2-3 TBSP Sugar
1 1/2 Cup Buttermilk
Handful of jumbo rolled Oats
Butter to serve
 
 
Directions: 
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Combine all dry ingredients in a medium bowl except for the dry Oats. Once combined make a well in the middle of the mixture and pour in the Buttermilk. Mix ingredients together until you have a sticky mixture.  Using your hands shape the dough into a ball, place it on a flour dusted baking sheet and sprinkle the top with the Oats. Cook in the oven for 15 minutes then reduce the heat to 200 degrees F. and bake for another 20 minutes or until it has a nice brown top. To make sure the bread is fully cooked tap it underneath and it will sound hollow. Remove from oven and enjoy.
