Directions

Open Beer and allow to rest in refrigerator overnight or at least 3 to 4 hours prior to adding to batter. Pre-Heat oil of choice to 365 degrees. In a medium bowl add 1 cup of Flour and set aside. In separate larger bowl add 2 cups of Flour, Garlic Powder, Pepper, Garlic Salt and Cayenne Pepper. Whisk well to combine. Add beaten Egg and Beer, mix thoroughly set aside and allow to rest. Slice Onions into approximately 1/4″ slices and separate into rings. Place small batches of Onion rings into the bowl containing the plain Flour and toss thoroughly. Next dip individual rings in Beer Batter mixture until well coated. Slowly lower rings into heated grease and fry until lightly brown on the bottom, flip rings over and fry remaining side until a light golden brown. Remove rings from grease and place on dry paper towels to absorb extra grease, sprinkle with salt if desired. Frying in small batches helps the Onion Rings to fry evenly and keeps the grease at the correct temperature. Serve with ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
